White Willow

The white willow bark (Salix alba L.) belonging to the Salicaceae family is a plant native to Europe and parts of Asia.
This plant is useful against rheumatism, headache and fever thanks to its analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory properties.
Although the components of willow bark include flavonoids and tannins, its pain-relieving properties are mainly attributed to salicinic glycosides.


  The active ingredients of Salix Alba L. are salicylic glycosides which are metabolized to produce salicylic acid by performing analgesic, antipyretic and antirheumatic activities.
