Astragalus (Astragalus membraneceus Moench), used in traditional Chinese medicine for a variety of purposes, is a flowering plant belonging to the Fabaceae family.
The principle mechanism of the plant is a result of its bioactive compounds which including saponins, flavonoids, free-form amino acids and polysaccharides that contribute to have a positive effect on managing stress and stimulating immune system.


  Most of the health benefits of astragalus are carried out by its polysaccharides (APS), which have been shown to activate the immune system by improving the transformation of T lymphocytes, the activation of B lymphocytes and dendritic cells, which trigger immune reactions.
