Roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.), originating in Africa and Carribean, is a shrub belonging to the Malvaceae family.
Different parts of Roselle including seeds, leaves, fruits and roots are used in various foods as well as in herbal medicine as a potential non-pharmacological treatment.


  Roselle is rich in organic acids, β-carotene, vitamin C and protein. Thanks to its bioactive compounds with antioxidant activity it contributes to improve several conditions including many cardiovascular disorders.
